I'm building a WhatsApp chatbot using a tool called Botpress. The purpose of this chatbot is for
parents to schedule tutoring sessions with teachers. There are four tables involved: HijosTable
(columns include child ID, child name, and parent name), PadresTable (includes phone number
and name of each parent), ProfesorTable (includes ProfessorID, Professor name, Subject,
calendly [a private calendly link for each professor]), and finally ProfesoresHijosTable (includes
ProfessorID and child ID, used to associate each student with their teachers).
1) When a user writes to the bot, the bot recognizes the user's phone number
(${[login to view URL]['whatsapp:userPhone']}).
2) Upon recognizing the number, it needs to check if that number is included in the
PadresTable, in the Numero column.
3) If the phone number belongs to that column, I want it to go to the HijosTable and
associate all children associated with the parent. Then, the bot should ask the parent
with which child they want to schedule a tutoring session from the previously associated
ones.
If the number is not in the table, show a message indicating it doesn't belong to this
school.
4) Once the parent selects the child they want to schedule a tutoring session for, I want to
give them the option to schedule with the desired teacher. The selected child will be
associated with the teachers they have through the ProfesoresHijosTable, and I want to
give them the option to choose the teacher they want to schedule a tutoring session
with. When they select the teacher, it should take them directly to the calendly link in the
calendly column within the ProfesorTable.
The key functionalities I need for the bot include:
- Answering frequently asked questions
- Providing customer support
- Collecting user feedback
- Allowing making reservations through a link
For reservations, the bot should be able to display available time slots pulled from Google Calendar. Freelancers with experience in API integrations, particularly Google Calendar, would be ideal for this project. Proficiency in Botpress and understanding of the WhatsApp Business API are also necessary. A keen sense of UX for designing effective and engaging chat Interactions is vital.
