Brief Summary:
  • vWorker.com reminder: You MAY NOT post the final solution for this (and any) project before your bid is accepted and funds are fully escrowed. Anyone who does may have their account permanently suspended. However, you CAN post:
    • On programming projects: A prototype or functional demo...as long as source code is not provided.
    • On graphics projects: A watermarked and low-resolution version of the work.

My Problem:

Listening Server on LAN.  Server IP: 192.168.1.3

Client on Internet needs to connect to my server and not able to do so.

Is there a way for client to connect to my Server without opening port or port forwarding in router. I know how to open ports on my router. and I know how to use third party server.  But is there a alternative way.

Can it be done programmatically.  Maybe something like Tunnel?

I want direct connection bet client and server.  Do not want to use third party server.

Code in Vb6. Works with 7 and XP.

Note app is distributed to customers and most do not know how to port foward or open ports.  And traffic is heavy so I do not want to use third party server. I want direct connection.

    • All deliverables must be uploaded to vWorker.com before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert vWorker.com of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.
