Brief Summary:
I have a small project that involves setting up a 20 line mysql database.

This includes getting a user to fill in a form and extracting data from a Google map to get lats and longs to store in database with the form that user has filled in

This data displays into a map and onto a form when a query is run.

I would also like a very simple facebook app set up as part of the form where if user clicks on a link a quick message gets added to their facebook wall.

Requirements Interview Answers:
To help you bid more accurately, the employer was interviewed about the requirements for this project. Below are their answers. Untitled Page
Project Type: What kind of work do you need done?
Software related (Includes desktop applications and internet websites)
Project Parts: What do you want the worker to do on this project?
Requirements: The worker will analyze the problem and propose a software-based solution to the problem.
Programming: The worker will take the requirements and translate them into the language of the computer (and test it).
User installation: The installer will move the software from the place it was created (which is called the development or QC environment) to where you will use it (which is called the production environment). The installer then tests the software to make sure that the installation was done properly and completely.
Req. Doc. Type: What kind of documentation do you want for this project?
Informal documentation - As the employer talks back and forth about the project with the worker, those conversations become the requirements.Remember to communicate ALL of the details of your project on the vWorker.com site. If you don't, and there is a dispute, then important details of the contract will not be documented and cannot be taken into account in arbitration. If you feel you MUST go offsite (for example, using the phone or IM) then afterwards post everything onsite and get the other party to post that they agree to those contractual terms.
Program Type: What kind of software should the worker create (and/or install)?
  • An internet web-site: This software runs on a web server and users will access it using their internet browser.
Internet web-site info
Design and functionality: What does the programming of this project involve?
  • Program Functionality: Making the website "work".
Modeling another site: Do you wish to model another site? No
Size of website: How many pages need to be created/edited in this website?
Approximately 4.
Programming Language: What programming language(s) do you want your website written in?
I do know the language(s).
Languages(s):
  • PHP
Database: Will this project include a database?
Yes, it does include a database.
Details:
  • MySQL -- version(s): php5
Browser Type(s)/Version(s): Which browser/version combinations must this website support?
  • IE 7.0
  • IE 6.0
  • Firefox 3.0
  • Firefox 2.0-2.x
  • Firefox 1.5
  • Safari 41
Server Hosting Environment: What is your server hosting environment?
I have a server at a 3rd party hosting company.
The name of the hosting company is: terranetwork
The server's shared/dedicated status is: Shared with other people.

Component Compatibility Protection:
Sometimes a worker may create features on the website that rely on componentswhich work fine on their own server, but won't work with your 3rd party hosting company's server. There are many reasons for this including version incompatibility, restricted permissions, etc... vWorker.com normally requires that the worker verify in advance that your 3rd party hosting provider will support the components.  If they do not, then they are responsible for any incompatibilities, rather than you. Do you want this protection on your project?
No, I will be responsible for any components of the final solution that do not work with my hosting company.
Server Hosting Environment: Will the worker develop "live" on your server?
No. The worker is responsible for creating their own development and/or qc environment.
Physical installation: Who will perform the physical installation?
The worker will perform the physical installation, and will be given all necessary permissions to do so.
Legal: 1) I require complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done (so that I may modify it in the future).
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
2a) Any website server-side deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
2b) All other software (including but not limited to any desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute) must include a software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request (unless specified elsewhere by the Buyer).
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
3b) No part of the deliverable may contain any copyright restricted 3rd party components (including GPL, GNU, Copyleft, etc.) unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the seller's Seller Legal Agreement.
Other Requirements:
A sample of the work that I would like done can be found at this site

http://www.find-fun.co.uk

(Please note there is NO database or working forms etc, It’s only a mock up! Choosing certain things wont actually work behind the scenes yet, that will be your job.)

The site is to find fun things to do – my children get bored and look to me for inspiration and this is why this site was born. The first page is like the search engine.

Step One

Choose the categories that appeal to you and click lets go

Immediately after clicking, all the relevant results should pop up, along with the map on the home page

First
You will see first a map with little markers showing what’s available and below that a paginated page with 10/25/50 results (User can select up to 50 results to see per page)

Important – to the right of the page is a little Facebook icon – clicking this icon will add a note to your Facebook wall and must say something like this ‘Jen found Blackpool Zoo on Find-fun.co.uk and he’s going at xx pm on xx day! Anyone else want to come??’

Step Two

A form to Add something to find fun.

Essentially I need this form designed to put content into the database but I need, when people click on the map, (See sample page) to have the resulting lat and long automatically added without the step of copying and pasting it.

Deliverables will be:

User can search MYSQL database to find the relevant results

Google map displaying the results calling by number of results asked for ie 10/25/50

Table with results in columns

Link to Facebook/My Space and add to wall with click

Form so people can add things to do and marker select lat and long

Form results go into database, and I, as admin, get email saying you’ve received a submission from:…. @…..com and to approve it I simply click approve. Submissions from people must NOT be automatically approved.

Please note

There will almost certainly be things that I haven’t thought of like for example when people submit an image it will need to be resized and if they submit image in jpg, gif, bmp, png – all have to be accepted and made to fit space…

But that is just an example of the things that I might only think of as we develop so please remember this when you quote. What I say in the above is mostly what needs to be done but there are going to be things that lie beneath the surface that we haven’t thought of at the moment and only appear as we go along so we need to take into account.

Thanks for your time. I hope it’s something we can work on together.
  • All deliverables must be uploaded to vWorker.com before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert vWorker.com of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.
  • Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the employer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the employer and worker agreements. vWorker.com monitors all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressors on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.
