About the Expert Guarantee Processing Fee

How work gets done. Guaranteed!

Dismiss Important alert: May 9, 2012 11:29:40 AM EDT.
  • My apologies for the inconvenience: the system for processing emailed responses was not processing all of them correctly (and it was only reported to us recently, so we didn't realize it). This has been fixed, but may result in older messages (from the last two weeks) showing up on May 8 and May 9 in your message thread. We have also taken steps to monitor this system more closely so we will know immediately in the future if there is a problem. Again, my apologies and thanks for your understanding. Ian Ippolito CEO and Founder of vWorker
  • Attention employers: One Million by One Million is looking to interview employers who have used vWorker to help build their business and have earned at least $1 million in revenue over the past 12 months. Your company must be independently held and you must be willing to openly discuss revenue numbers. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact us for more information.
The Expert Guarantee Processing Fee

When the worker is awarded the project from the employer, they deposit the Expert Guarantee. When they do this, vWorker.com incurs expenses in processing it. To cover those expenses, the worker is charged a non-refundable 3.5% fee. The fee is a percentage of the Expert Guarantee. The fee is discounted (and completely waived) if you pay using one of the below preferred payment methods:

Deposit Type Fee
No deposit - transfer of existing funds already in worker account 0%: Fee is discounted (and completely waived)
for using a preferred payment method.
Snail mail check 0%: Fee is discounted (and completely waived)
for using a preferred payment method.
Bank to bank wire Transfer 0%: Fee is discounted (and completely waived)
for using a preferred payment method.*

As an option, the worker can also ask the employer to cover the cost of this fee for them. They can do this in a number of ways such as: increasing the price of the bid, asking the employer to post a 2nd project to cover it (contingent on completion of the project), or by getting the employer to promise to pay the fee to them as a bonus (upon completion of the project). Note to workers: If you choose the bonus route, just remember that due to credit card/PayPal rules, vWorker.com CANNOT force a employer to pay a bonus involuntarily...even when promised on-site. So don't choose this option, unless you trust the employer, or are willing to take a small risk.

Notes:

  • If you use multiple methods to pay for a single deposit (for example: transfer some from your worker account and deposit the rest from a credit card), then the fee is computed by combining the different fees for each portion.
  • * On bank to bank wires, a wire transfer fee is charged: the same amount as charged to employers on their bank to bank wires.
